About Skill Hall
Neighbors Teaching Neighbors
Livingston Skill Hall started with a simple idea: how can I help more than one person at a time with their computer and media questions? And why stop with myself – there is a wealth of knowledge in this town that crosses many disciplines. Who else would want to take a class, or lead a workshop?
There are people here who know how to mend, tie flies, fix a website, bake bread, use a telescope, set up a budget, sharpen tools, or teach someone to draw. Skill Hall is a way to bring that know-how together — in one place — so neighbors can learn from neighbors.
In Partnership with the The Hub @PCSC
Skill Hall sessions and classes are held at the “The Hub” at Park County Senior Center. We’re grateful to partner with a space that has served the community for years and continues to do so. This is intentional – we believe that bringing multiple generations of locals together can benefit us all, and PCSC was seeking such community involvement in their space to further enrich the lives of residents & members.
Resident Seniors are welcomed participants, and may even lead a Class or Skill Hall.
Keeping It Affordable
We want Skill Hall to be accessible. Whenever possible, offerings will be priced on a sliding scale. The goal is to keep things affordable while still honoring the time and experience of the instructors who lead them.
Shaped by the Community
Skill Hall grows based on what locals want to learn and who is willing to teach. Topics will shift throughout the year, with seasonal influences. If someone has a skill and the desire to share it, there’s room here.
At the end of the day, Skill Hall isn’t just about learning something new – it’s here to help us connect with one another in the community. To grow friendships along with knowledge.
Skill Hall is designed to provide learning opportunities that the community is interested in. Your input is appreciated! Please take a few minutes to complete our Survey, and let us know what YOU want to Learn – or Lead.
How It Works
Have a skill to share, a class idea, or a business event that needs more space? Livingston Skill Hall can help coordinate the location, registration, ticketing, and promotion.
If Skill Hall processes paid registrations, $5 per participant is retained to help cover website, ticketing, marketing, scheduling, and administration. Online ticket prices also include standard payment-processing costs, and the remaining revenue goes to the instructor.
Classes held at The HUB at PCSC include a separate Suggested Donation made directly to Park County Senior Center, and are tax-deductible. Additionally, classes & workshops Hosted by The HUB with a fee for the instructor, materials, etc., are handled independently by The HUB.
